Afek Power Plant Ltd. is in the process of building a power plant at Kibbutz Afek site.
The power plant will implement a Combined Cooling, Heat and Power (CCHP) technology based on a Gas Turbine. The power plant's capacity will be up to 14 MWe and up to 20 steam ton per hour.
Afek power plant is located at the north of Israel, approximately 140 km from Jerusalem.
The power plant will supply all electricity and energy consumption of Kibbutz Afek and other industrial consumers of the Kibbutz area. Any surplus electricity will be sold to other electricity consumers via the IEC grid.
Kibbutz Afek is located in Zvulun valley. It was established in 1935 and was relocated to its current location in 1948.
The Kibbutz's economy sectors include industry and agriculture.
Within the Kibbutz's property are 3 factories operating to produce knitted fabrics, medical equipment and ornaments.
